In May 2026, domestic trade sales recorded significant year-on-year growth of 13.2%. This performance was driven by stronger domestic demand (+2.5%), amid a recovery in private consumption, as well as higher sales associated with Mother’s Day. Among the activities with the strongest growth were supermarkets and hypermarkets (+13.6%), department stores (+19.7%), household equipment (+12.0%), and books, newspapers, and stationery (+81.1%), among others.
