in both local markets and major commercial centers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f7ee2a9 e-grid e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" Moreover, there is no updated profile of the primary stakeholder in this activity: the artisanal fisherman. To highlight the significance of this issue, it is worth noting that the last census of artisanal fishing was conducted just over a decade ago.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Given this situation, the effort by the Instituto del Mar del Per\u00fa (IMARPE) to conduct the Structural Survey of Artisanal Fishing in the Peruvian Coast (ENEPA) is highly relevant. The objective of this statistical instrument is to update knowledge on the condition of artisanal fishing vessels, fishing gear and equipment, and the social, economic, and demographic status of artisanal fishermen.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To date, IMARPE has conducted and published the results of four ENEPA surveys. The survey recorded a total of 28,982 artisanal fishermen, 51% of which are located in the northern zone (Tumbes - Lambayeque). It covered a total of 122 sampling points along the coast, including coves, ports, beaches and population centers, with an estimated 37,727 artisanal fishermen.
