September 2023: Manufacturing Statistics Bulletin

Manufacturing production registered a decline of 9.3% compared to September 2022. This result is mainly explained by the lower activity in the non-primary industry (-13.6%), associated with a decrease in both domestic demand (around -1.4%) and industrial exports (-10.2%). This decline was partially offset by the significant growth, for the second consecutive month, of the primary industry (+8.2%), particularly due to the strong performance of industrial fishing for direct human consumption (canned and frozen) and the oil refining industry.
