The "Monthly Fisheries Statistics" survey is a research activity conducted by the Economic Studies Office, which is part of the General Office of Impact Assessment and Economic Studies. This survey gathers fundamental statistical information on the productive and economic development of the Fisheries and Aquaculture subsector.
The objective of the "Monthly Fisheries Statistics" is to collect, analyze, quantify, and consolidate data on the productive performance of industrial and aquaculture fisheries. This initiative aims to provide reliable and timely information on various variables related to the evolution of productive activities within the Fisheries and Aquaculture subsector, covering its diverse phases and operational areas at the national level.

To provide consistent, reliable, and timely information on the monthly development of productive activities within the Fisheries and Aquaculture subsector. This includes data on the phases of unloading, harvesting, processing, and marketing of hydrobiological resources, detailed by species, landing locations, and types of products in their various forms.

To ensure the dissemination of reliable and timely information on the fundamental variables of fishing and aquaculture activities. This aims to analyze the short-term productive evolution of the subsector and provide the necessary data for calculating various macroeconomic variables related to the extractive and productive sectors, as utilized by the National Statistical System and public and private institutions.
