In June 2023, domestic trade sales recorded a slight decline of 2.5% compared to June 2022. This result was mainly explained by lower sales in department stores (-14.4%), home equipment stores (-0.8%), and hardware stores (-16.9%). In contrast, increases were observed in sales of supermarkets and hypermarkets (+4.7%), pharmacies and drugstores (+2.1%), and book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+9.2%).
