In Peru, 99.6% of the formal business sector is composed of MSMEs. This segment includes economic agents that drive and contribute to the country's economic development. A significant part of the population and the economy depends on the activity and performance of this segment due to its recognized capacity to generate employment and its participation in production. In fact, in 2019, MSMEs contributed 33.3% of the national value added and generated employment for 59.0% of the economically active population.
