In May 2024, aquaculture harvest totaled 7,142 MT, a figure 4.4% lower than in May 2023 (7,469 MT). This result was mainly due to lower shrimp harvests (-39.1%). However, improved weather conditions from the second half of 2024 onward, the tax benefits granted to aquaculture, and the National Aquaculture Policy to 2030 would help explain the increase in aquaculture harvest in 2024.
