The metalworking sector plays a significant role in Latin America’s economy, contributing 16% to the region’s industrial Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and generating approximately 24 million jobs. In Peru, during 2024, the metalworking sector accounted for 9.4% of the manufacturing sector’s Gross Value Added (GVA) and contributed 1.2% to the country’s national GDP. Additionally, it generated around 3.0% of total private sector employment nationwide.
