In May 2025, aquaculture harvest reached 6,470 MT, a figure 11.0% lower year-on-year compared to May 2024 (7,233 MT). This result was mainly explained by lower harvests of shrimp (-9.4%), scallops (-8.9%), trout (-6.6%), and tilapia (-48.0%). In addition, frozen aquaculture production totaled 2,227 gross metric tons (GMT), compared to 2,474 GMT in the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly due to lower production of frozen products made from scallops and shrimp.
