In April 2024, the GDP of the fishing sector recorded a 24.3% decline compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly due to the lower catch of anchoveta for indirect human consumption (IHC). Total landings amounted to 591.6 thousand tons, representing a 32.1% decrease compared to April 2023 (870.8 thousand tons).
