In 2025, GDP in the fishing sector grew by 2.9% compared to the previous year, driven mainly by higher catches of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC), particularly frozen products. Total landings amounted to 6,206.8 thousand metric tons, representing a moderate increase of 6.7% compared to 2024, when landings reached 5,818.6 thousand metric tons.
