In April, the fisheries of the GDP sector experienced a 24.3% decline compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly due to a lower anchovy catch for industrial fishmeal production (CHI). Total landings amounted to 591.6 thousand tons, representing a 32.1% decrease compared to April 2024 (870.8 thousand tons). On the other hand, landings destined for direct human consumption (CHD) reached 151.4 thousand tons, reflecting a 63.9% year-on-year increase.
