In April 2025, GDP in the fishing sector declined by 24.3% compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly explained by lower anchoveta catches intended for indirect human consumption (IHC). Total landings amounted to 591.6 thousand metric tons, representing a 32.1% decrease compared to April 2024, when landings reached 870.8 thousand metric tons.
