In August 2024, total landings amounted to 118.0 thousand metric tons, representing a 56.9% decrease compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly explained by lower anchoveta landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC), which decreased by 99.8%, resulting in a utilized anchoveta volume of 0.3 thousand metric tons. In contrast, this decline was partially offset by a 29.6% increase in catches of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC).
