In August 2025, GDP in the fishing sector declined by 11.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly explained by lower catches of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC). Total landings amounted to 90.3 thousand metric tons, representing a 23.4% decrease compared to August 2024, when landings reached 118.0 thousand metric tons.
