In 2025, the extractive activity of the artisanal fishing sector experienced a significant increase of 72.8% compared to 2024. This favorable result is primarily explained by the greater availability of jumbo squid (pota), driven by oceanographic conditions conducive to this resource. Likewise, industrial production reached 606 thousand MTB, representing an increase of 210.2% compared to 2024 (195 thousand MTB).
