Between 2019 and 2023, the GDP of the textile and apparel industry declined at an average annual rate of 3.3%, with 2021 being its strongest year (+37.3%). However, from January to September 2024, industrial production in the sector showed a positive growth of +8.2%. This increase was driven by a 10.4% growth in the clothing industry (with higher production of t-shirts, pants, blouses, and pajamas) and a 4.8% increase in the textile industry (due to higher production volumes of cotton yarns, blended yarns, jersey fabrics, rib fabrics, etc.)
