It is estimated that, in 2025, the shipbuilding industry contributed 3.5% to manufacturing GDP and 0.4% to national GDP. In addition, the industry is estimated to have recorded significant growth of 204.7% compared to 2024, driven by the agreement between SIMA and the South Korean company Dohwa Engineering for the delivery and construction of 23 vessels for the Peruvian Navy over a 30-year period.
