In 2024, the number of formal MSEs reached 2,326,126, accounting for 99.1% of the business sector. In addition, 63.2% of formal MSEs were concentrated in Lima, Arequipa, La Libertad, Cusco, and Piura. In contrast, the regions with the lowest number of formal MSEs were Tumbes, Pasco, and Huancavelica, each with fewer than 16,000 MSEs.
