Between January and February 2026, artisanal fisheries landings totaled 241 thousand MT, representing a significant 47.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025 (164 thousand MT). This growth was explained by higher catches of jumbo squid (+241.0%), bonito (+23.5%), and mahi-mahi (+131.3%). However, this increase was partially offset by lower landings of jack mackerel (-50.6%), mullet (-23.6%), seaweed (-56.4%), among others.
