Between January and March 2026, artisanal fish landings totaled 369 thousand metric tons, representing a significant increase of 34.9% compared to the same period in 2025 (274 thousand metric tons). This growth was mainly driven by higher catches of jumbo squid (+115.4%), bonito (+33.4%), and dolphinfish (+123.2%). However, this performance was partially offset by lower landings of jack mackerel (-56.4%), seaweed (-53.2%), mullet (-32.0%), and other species.
