The alpaca fiber textile and apparel sector plays an important economic and social role in Peru. Between 2019 and 2024, this activity generated, on average, more than S/ 237 million annually in Gross Value Added (GVA), representing a contribution of 4.7% to the GDP of the textile and apparel sector, 0.34% to manufacturing GDP, and 0.04% to national GDP.
