The GDP of the fisheries sector experienced a significant increase of 29.1% in March 2025, marking five consecutive months of growth. This month' result was mainly driven by the higher catch of CHI and CHD. Landings totaled 210 thousand tons, representing an expansion of 141.4% compared to March 2024 (87.0 thousand tons). Additionally, it is estimated that in March, the fishing sector contributed 302 million soles (at constant prices) from both extractive and processing activities, accounting for 0.6% of the national GDP.
