In March 2026, the fishing sector’s GDP declined by 12.5% year-on-year. This result was mainly explained by lower extraction of fishery resources destined for both direct human consumption (DHC) and indirect human consumption (IHC). In addition, total landings reached 146.4 thousand metric tons, representing a significant decrease of 30.8% compared with March 2025, mainly due to unfavorable oceanographic conditions.
