In 2025, fish extraction in the Peruvian Amazon reached 26,284 MT, representing a 19.9% increase, driven mainly by higher catches of palometa (up 20.8%, reaching 5,465 tons), followed by boquichico (up 19.6%, 5,153 tons) and tilapia (up 8.1%, 2,124 tons). In terms of aquaculture, San Martín led regional aquaculture harvests with 49.4%, followed by Amazonas with 21.2% and Loreto with 8.5%.
