Between January and October 2023, the artisanal fishery landings amounted to 1,056.1 thousand MT and registered an increase of 29.6% compared to the same period of 2022, due to the increased fishing of squid (+80.5%), jack mackerel (+32.7%), bonito (+25.6%), perico (+8.0%) and shark (+14.2%). This increase was partially offset by lower landings of mackerel (-32.8%), mullet (-0.7%), ayanque (-28.3%), machete (-11.1%), and silverside (-68.5%).
