In September, GDP in the fishing sector recorded moderate growth of 6.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly explained by higher catches of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC), particularly frozen and canned products. Total landings amounted to 141.4 thousand metric tons, representing a 70.9% increase compared to September 2024, when landings reached 82.8 thousand metric tons.
