In August 2021, domestic trade sales increased by 13.7% year-on-year, as a result of the positive performance of the main activities within the sector, such as supermarkets and hypermarkets (+6.3%), department stores (+50.1%), hardware and home improvement stores (+30.8%), home equipment stores (+7.6%), as well as higher sales in book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+4.7%).
