In September 2024, sales in the domestic trade sector increased by 1.8% year-on-year, as a result of higher turnover in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+0.1%), department stores (+12.7%), home equipment stores (+3.3%), and pharmacies and drugstores (+0.8%). However, this growth was partially offset by a decline in sales of book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (-16.8%) and hardware and home improvement stores (-0.04%).
