The number of enterprises in the restaurants and related activities sector recorded an average annual decline of 6.7% between 2019 and 2023. In 2020, it reached 101,870 enterprises, a figure 47.5% lower than in 2019, due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the number of restaurant businesses stood at 147,301 enterprises, 3.7% higher than in 2022.
