Total landings of hydrobiological resources amounted to 116.3 thousand metric tons, 7.6 thousand metric tons above the level recorded in August 2021, when landings reached 108.7 thousand metric tons. This increase was mainly explained by higher anchoveta landings in the southern zone intended for indirect human consumption (IHC) (+1,212.3%). In contrast, extractive activity in artisanal fishing intended for direct human consumption (DHC) decreased by 23.6%, with no signs of recovery yet due to unfavorable oceanographic conditions.
