In August 2024, aquaculture harvest amounted to 8,073 MT, a figure 2.5% higher than in August 2023 (7,875 MT). This result was mainly due to the increase in scallop harvests (+189.6%). However, frozen aquaculture production totaled 2,558 gross metric tons (GMT), a figure 23.0% lower than in August 2023, when production volume reached 3,339 GMT. This decline was due to lower production of shrimp-based frozen products, which was affected by adverse weather conditions.
