In the last five years, the number of formal MSMEs increased at an average annual rate of 0.7%, reaching nearly 2.3 million in 2023. Additionally, during this period, 703,000 MSMEs were registered, of which 146,000 exited the market, resulting in a mortality rate of 20.8%. On average, 21 out of every 100 MSMEs registered between 2019 and 2023 left the market.
