Over the last five-year period, the number of formal MSEs increased at an average annual rate of 0.7%, reaching nearly 2.3 million in 2023. In addition, during this period, 703,000 MSEs were registered, of which 146,000 exited the market, representing a mortality rate of 20.8%. On average, 21 out of every 100 MSEs registered between 2019 and 2023 exited the market.
