In January 2022, domestic trade sales decreased by 0.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the negative sales performance in supermarkets and hypermarkets (-3.8%), department stores (-1.2%), hardware stores (-0.9%), as well as home equipment products (-12.6%). However, this decline was partially offset by higher sales in pharmacies and drugstores (+6.7%), as well as book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+94.1%).
