The First National Census of Artisanal Fisheries in the Maritime Area — CENPAR 2012 was conducted along the coasts of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Áncash, Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, and the Constitutional Province of Callao. Artisanal fishers and artisanal vessel owners were registered at the location where they were found at the time of the census, regardless of their usual place of residence. The data collected through CENPAR 2012 serve as a basis for public policy decision-making in the sector.
