In May 2024, manufacturing GDP grew by 18.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly driven by the significant increase in the primary subsector (+76.5%), particularly industrial fishing (+651.1%). The slight growth of the non-primary subsector also contributed to this result, associated with the recovery of domestic demand, of around 2.0%, and industrial exports (+5.3%). In this context, the manufacturing sector’s total contribution to national GDP is estimated at around 12.5%, equivalent to PEN 6,243 million at constant prices.
