In July 2022, sales in the domestic trade sector increased slightly by 1.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the positive performance of sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+1.4%), pharmacies and drugstores (+16.5%), as well as book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+66.5%). In contrast, this result was partially offset by the negative performance of sales in department stores (-1.6%), hardware and home improvement stores (-7.2%), and home equipment products (-13.8%).
