In May 2022, domestic trade sales increased slightly by 0.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the positive sales performance in hardware stores (+10.8%), pharmacies and drugstores (+9.1%), as well as book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+72.9%). In contrast, this increase was partially offset by the negative performance of sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (-1.0%), department stores (-10.2%), and home equipment products (-6.8%).
