In May 2024, total landings amounted to 1,554.4 thousand metric tons, representing a significant expansion of 1,076.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. This result was mainly explained by the increase in anchoveta landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC), which rose by more than 100%, reaching a utilized anchoveta volume of 1,454.9 thousand metric tons. In contrast, catches of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC) decreased by 20.1%.
