October 2022: Domestic Trade Current Situation Report

In October 2022, sales in the domestic trade sector recorded a slight decline of 2.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the negative performance of some activities within the sector, such as department stores (-5.3%), hardware and home improvement stores (-5.5%), and home equipment stores (-28.2%). In contrast, this result was partially offset by sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+0.4%), pharmacies and drugstores (+4.0%), as well as book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops (+21.8%).
