In October, GDP in the fishing sector declined by 48.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. Total landings amounted to 73.2 thousand metric tons, representing a 77.1% decrease compared to October 2023, when landings reached 319.1 thousand metric tons. Landings intended for direct human consumption (DHC) fell to 70.4 thousand metric tons, representing a year-on-year decrease of 17.1%. Meanwhile, landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC) decreased by 98.8% compared to October 2023, when they reached 234.1 thousand metric tons.
