In September, GDP in the fishing sector recorded a year-on-year decline of 14.6%, mainly due to lower catches intended for direct human consumption (DHC). Landings intended for direct human consumption (DHC) decreased significantly by 22.5%, amounting to 77.9 thousand metric tons. Meanwhile, landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC) increased by 47.2%, reaching 0.6 thousand metric tons of anchoveta, corresponding mainly to discards from the DHC industry.
