Extractive activity in the fishing sector recorded a significant increase of 135.4% in volume terms compared to January 2022. This result was mainly explained by higher anchoveta landings intended for the fishmeal industry (+392.1%), although it was partially offset by lower landings of fishery resources from artisanal fishing, including jack mackerel, mackerel, mahi-mahi, and bonito.
