In September 2023, domestic trade sales recorded growth of 2.8%, mainly due to higher sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+12.4%), pharmacies and drugstores (+10.3%), as well as in the book and newspaper retailers and stationery shops category (+6.7%). However, this positive momentum was partially offset by the negative performance of department stores (-11.2%), home equipment stores (-7.7%), and hardware and home improvement stores (-16.4%).
