In August 2023, domestic trade sales recorded a decline of 3.5% compared to August 2022. This result was mainly due to lower sales in hardware stores (-21.4%), department stores (-2.7%), and home equipment stores (-8.8%). In contrast, this performance was partially offset by higher sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+1.2%), as well as pharmacies and drugstores (+4.0%).
