In April 2022, internal trade sales increased by 10.9% compared to the same period the previous year. This growth was driven by the strong performance of sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+9.9%), department stores (+7.9%), hardware stores (+19.5%), pharmacies and drugstores (+7.8%), as well as books, newspapers, and stationery items (+216.9%). In contrast, this growth was partially offset by a decrease in sales of home equipment products (-13.8%).
