Domestic trade sales registered a 4.3% decrease compared to July 2022. This result is mainly explained by lower sales in department stores (-12.4%), home equipment (-12.3%) and hardware stores (-16.1%), and to a lesser extent, by sales in pharmacies and drugstores (-4.0%) and books, newspapers and stationery (-3.1%). In contrast, this performance was attenuated by the increase in sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets (+4.4%).
