Extractive activity in the fishing sector recorded a moderate increase of 6.3% in volume terms compared to April 2022. This marked four consecutive months of positive growth rates. This month’s result was mainly explained by higher landings of fishery resources from artisanal fishing, including giant squid, jack mackerel, bonito, and mahi-mahi, supported by the continued anomalous warm conditions in the Peruvian sea caused by the Coastal El Niño phenomenon.
