Extractive activity in the fishing sector recorded a sharp decrease of 88.6% in volume terms compared to May 2022, after four consecutive months of positive growth rates. This result was mainly explained by lower anchoveta landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC), as a result of unfavorable oceanographic conditions for this resource caused by the Coastal El Niño phenomenon.
